Introduction: This Agreement combines responsible device use, equipment care, student responsibilities, fees, digital citizenship, and the school/district's rights. The complete policy (D3 Responsible Computer, Network & Internet Use) can be found on our website's policies page or provided upon request.
Acceptable Use: I understand that using district-owned technology is a privilege, not a right. Responsible and ethical use of technology resources is essential. The same rules apply to using technology as other student conduct, including the District's harassment and bullying policies.
Ownership and Privacy: District-owned computers and networks belong to the District. There's no expectation of privacy for anything created, stored, sent, received, or displayed on the District's equipment or network resources, whether using school-issued or personal devices.
Examination and Rights: The District reserves the right to examine devices, including Chromebooks, tablets, cell phones, etc., with built-in computing, imaging, or recording capabilities. This includes personal and school-owned devices if guidelines are reasonably suspected to be violated.
Devices for students; Use at School: Every student is assigned a device and expected to bring it to school, charged, every day. Devices may be used in designated areas; camera functions are prohibited. In academic classrooms, devices can be used at the teacher's discretion. Students may not install applications or alter their devices in any way, and devices must be kept in the provided protective cases at all times. Damages may be charged per the fees listed below.
Fees for assigned equipment: Excess Repairs $40, Power Adapter - $20, Lost Chromebook- $250, Lost iPad - $300
Digital Citizenship: We're all digital citizens in this tech-powered world. Let's follow these rules to make it awesome:
- Respect Yourself: Let's be our best selves online. Use appropriate names and share info wisely.
- Protect Yourself: Keep your info safe. Don't share personal details. If someone's mean online, tell an adult.
- Respect Others: Treat others how you want to be treated. No bullying or mean words.
- Protect Others: If you see something not right, tell an adult. Don't share bad stuff. Be positive online.
- Respect Ideas: Use stuff online, but give credit where it's due. Don't copy without permission.
- Protect Ideas: Ask to use stuff from others. Don't steal software or media. Be a fair and honest user.
Agreement: I have read and understood the Acceptable Use Agreement for Students. I agree to comply with its terms and guidelines. Students may sign if they are over 18.
